Classical Composition
Ted Labow trained as a classical composer and earned his BFA from York University, studying with James Tenney, Srul Irving Glick and Phil Werren. Early compositions included music for Theatre Arts productions (Oedipus Rex) and interdisciplinary works that included dance and performance art. More recently, Ted Labow has concentrated on art song, solo music for piano and liturgical music.
Woodland Dress - Songs of William Wordsworth
This song cycle is an ongoing project to set the 'chaunt'-like poetry of the great romantic poet, Willam Wordsworth. The songs are for various voices, solo and in combination.
