Background
Ted Labow studied Composition and Jazz Performance at York University and has played with Jazz and Latin Bands and solo in Canada and the US including Cimmaron (Luis Mario Ochoa), Banda Brava (Memo Acevedo), Leonardo Y Su Combo (piano and music direction), Hurakan, Nafsheinu Orchestra and various small ensembles. Venues include Massey Hall, Georges Spaghetti House, The Stockton Inn (NJ), The Bridgewater JCC, the Bamboo (Toronto) and Ontario Place. He has accompanied Etti Ankri, Magafayim Carlos Mata, Patrice Jégou-Oyelese. He was a first-call latin piano player in Toronto for about 10 years. He played in bands in Toronto that opened for such greats as Tito Puente and Johnny Pacheco. He has worked in the New York studios with David Finck and Steve Williams and has collaborated on arrangments with Mark Kibble and worked with the Nashville String Machine.
